Metropolitan Regatta 2018

This weekend Binghamton Rowing traveled down to Glen Island Park to compete in the Metropolitan Regatta. The VW8+ and VM8+ boats were the first events of the day for our team. The VW8+ came in fourth place with a time of 08:16.12 in their heat. The VM8+ qualified for finals in third place with a time of 07:07.16 in their heat.
The VW4+B & A boats were the next events up, both qualifying for finals in their respective heat. The VW4+B came in second place with a time of 08:44.70 and the VW4+A also came in second place with a time of 08:04.03. The VM4+ completed their preliminary race in first place with a time of 07:18.47 qualifying for finals. The following events were the NW8+ that came in fourth place with a time of 09:10.67. The Varsity Men’s Lightweight 4+ competed in the following heat, placing fifth with a time of 07:51.12
The team had four boats move on to finals: the VM8+, VM4+ and VW4+A &B boats. The Varsity Men’s 8+ came in fourth placed with a time of 07:39.46. The VW4+B came in sixth with a time of 09:45.69 and the VW4+A came in third place with a time of 09:12.98. The VM4+ finished the 2k sprint with a time of 08:02.10 setting themselves in second place.
A good day for racing for all boats through the rough salt water and windy race course. Next week, Binghamton Rowing will be traveling up to Saratoga Springs to compete in the New York State Collegiate Championships.
