Heading to HOCR 2017!
53rd Head of the Charles Regatta, Here They Come!
After retaining a bid to compete in the Men’s Collegiate 4+ event last year, The Binghamton Rowing Team is proud to announce that they will be sending two entries this year!
Head of the Charles Regatta, or HOCR, is one of the world’s largest races and hosts teams from across the globe. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this year’s regatta will race 2,276 boats across 791 clubs. Not only will hundreds of collegiate teams race at HOCR this year, the USA National Team and other highly regarded clubs will put their rowing prowess to the test as well.
To attend this year’s race, the Men’s A 4+ needed to place in the top half of their heat last year, a feat that they have accomplished for the past two years now. The second entry the men’s team obtained this year was chosen based on a lottery system, and they plan on retaining that bid as well! Their event is scheduled for Sunday, October 22nd at 2:53 pm. You can also check out the Binghamton Women’s Alumni Eight compete the day before, on Saturday, October 21st at 1:18 pm.
